Our process has two objectives:
• To see that we understand the nature of your business and your desired audience.
• To ensure that you understand, and are comfortable with, how we are translating that information to the online world.
We utilize a collaborative process that takes us from initial discovery to final launch, with each phase building on the one before it. Client approvals are required before moving from one phase to the next.
Discovery
First, we listen. Our process starts with two simple questions. Who are you looking to reach? What do you want them to do? Through our initial conversations we learn about your business, your objectives and the resources you have available. Branding, marketing and search engine strategies are discussed, a Communications Brief is generated.
Content
Based on the results of the Discovery phase, a Site Outline is created of potential content areas. On a redesign, a Content Audit of the site is compiled to determine what information currently exists. Upon approval, an inventory is taken to assess what content needs to be created and what can be re-purposed from other areas.
Structure
Two structural documents are created based on the Site Outline:
• Site Map: A chart of the site's functional and information flow.
• Wire Frames : Diagrams of the site's the key pages indicating the how the screen real estate will be apportioned and the relative position of content and navigation elements.
Design
The design process is takes place in two stages:
• Preliminary Concepts: Three design explorations are presented: home page, an interior page and pages with special design needs.
• Iterations: Revisions are made based on client feedback and the design is re-presented until a final “Look and Feel” is approved.
Production
The Final design is implemented
• CSS Style Sheets: (formatting and typographic attributes).
• Asset Creation: Studio work, art optimized for the web.
• Coding: HTML pages. Programming elements are created.
Quality Assurance (QA)
• HTML check
• Testing: The site is viewed in all major Internet browsers.
• Proofing: Final text corrections.
Launch
Upon final approval, the web site "goes live" and is accessible on the internet.
